Milan Fashion Week: Marni, Roberto Cavalli

Marni Ready To Wear Fall 2010

Roberto Cavalli Ready To Wear Fall 2010

Two completely different collections that I both loved in their own way. I always adore the bold colors and clear shapes and Marni and of course their killer accessories. This season I got a bit of a sexy librarian vibe from the collection I really liked the knee socks - such a fun touch. The color palette is wonderful and I loved the sheer materials over the boxy dresses.
And Roberto Cavalli, well I don't know if I ever posted about a collection of his before as it's usually not really my cup of tea. But this seasons collection had such a cool and laid back look and impeccable styling that I couldn't help but love it. Just look at the crazy mix of patterns and materials!

Milan Fashion Week: Prada

I always look forward to Prada as it's always so unexpected and inspirational. This collection was very tough and warrior like. I really liked the flapper dresses and all those greatly cut coats. But as usual with Prada you got to let it sink in a bit before you can really make a judgement...and even if end up not liking it at all, it will be so all over the place that eventually it'll grow on you =P haha.

Milan Fashion Week: Marni, Fendi

I like Marni's collections, they're always so fun and sophisticated. There is so much going on in each of the looks - color, shapes and lots of textures yet it looks very clean and pulled toghether. And as always at Marni, the accossoires are to die for...<3!

Fendi presented a very modern, urban and as always a very luxurious collection. There was lots of leather and absolutely love how they mixed it with the other fabrics like velver and fur. I loved the shoes, the glitzy deatils and the corset details.

Milan Fashion Week: D&G, Gucci

Although this is D&G and I never like D&G's tacky-ness I feel myself strangely drawn to this very theatrical, almost costume-y collection. Yes, there were quite a few looks which I totally hated but I couldn't stop myself from liking these cute "sofa"-skirts and dresses and the beautiful tulle pieces. If this had been done in a more tasteful and toned down version I would've loved it even more. But this is D&G after all so I just look at it as a very fun collection ^o^

All in all way too much glitter in this collection but there were a few very nice looks. But I'm not a fan of Gucci anyway so I didn't exactly have high expectations.

Milan Fashion Week: Burberry Prorsum

I know I say this every season but Christopher Bailey never disappoints me! The fall 09 collection was very toned down and natural with lots of basic and really timeless pieces.
The romantic and classic looks were toughened up with chunky lace up boots, spiked chain bracelets and the classic trenches were cut to look a tad bit slouchy for a masculine touch. Easily my favorite collection this season =)

Milan Fashion Week: Missioni

I love the styling of this collection, so messy and yet very well put together. I especially like the bits of shiny jewelry peeking out between the layers. It is refreshing to see such a light color palette in a fall/winter collection. Just what I needed after what seemed like endless all-black collections.
